If you were leaving school and entering ‘professional life’ now, what advice would you want to hear?

We don’t get taught this stuff. Too much Hollywood shaping our perceptions of what’s ‘success’.

Check out this great speech delivered by Tim Minchin. Makes you think twice about why you do what you do.
Well worth the ten minutes. Might make your life better. Or help you plot a better course over the next 10 years.
Or it’ll just make you laugh a little. Which is good too.

  1. Wonderful … ‘Please don’t make the mistake of thinking the arts and sciences are at odds with one another … you don’t have to be unscientific to make beautiful art or write beautiful things.’ The arts and sciences need to work together to improve how knowledge is communicated …’
That’s just the start … thanks for a great reminder of what sanity sounds like!
